The membership will auto-assign to the BASIC plan when the subscription expires. You must then renew your subscription plan with an updated or new card. You will, however, be able to update your card, prior to the subscription running out on the MyAccount pages.

If it is a matter of the recurring subscription being cancelled, your membership will also be assigned to the BASIC plan unless you request your account to be deleted. You could instead of deletion retain your BASIC plan and just have your Artwork products archived.
