Artist Vendor Store Setup (i.e. 'Quick Store Setup')
1. Overview #
In this article, we will discuss how you as the Artist Vendor, set up your store to start selling artwork. Needless to say, this is a very important aspect of your art store and SCOTSY provides you with an easy interface to do so.
With SCOTSY art marketplace, you will get a 'Quick Store Setup' wizard where you will be prompted to enter important data related to your store. We will discuss these steps in the knowledge base to help you to set up your store and start selling.
2. Setup Wizard #
Whenever you complete your registration you will be redirected to the Store Setup Wizard, which will allow you as the artist vendor to enter essential data to kick-start your store, here's a screenshot of the wizard for better understanding.
Artists can skip this vendor wizard and directly enter the vendor dashboard, or they can provide details here in a step-wise manner to pre-populate the necessary details for the store.
The entire process of the wizard should take 4-5 minutes but you may like to study this article initially and prepare the necessary images and data. Let us discuss the steps with screenshot imagery for better understanding.
2.1 Step 1 - Store #
In the initial step, you are required to fill in the store details, such as the store logo (125 x 125 px), the banner (1500 x 400 px), the address of the store, and the store description. Notably, you can omit the location as that will just be Scotland.
Moreover, a few of the fields will be pre-filled (such as store email, name etc., which are present in the registration fields). You can fill up the remaining fields as shown below:
2.2 Step 2 - Payment #
This is perhaps the most important step, where you will set up your payment account. By default, SCOTSY only uses the STRIPE payment gateway which is reflected in this step, where artist vendors can set up and configure their own STRIPE account, connected to the main SCOTSY STRIPE account. The following is a screenshot:
Press the blue "Connect with Stripe" button to setup a Stripe Express account connected to SCOTSY account.

We are now moving on to the next step, namely Policies.
2.3 Step 3 - Policies #
In this step, the artist vendor can enter their store policies like refund policy, shipping policy and cancellation policy. Additionally, you need to set the 'label' (eg. David's Policies or Edinburgh Art's Policies) for your policy tab shown in your store page.
(Guideline policy texts are preloaded for you to amend to suit your own needs. Notably, you can amend all this later in the main dashboard but the more you do now the more ready your shop will be).
