Adding Products - Duplicate Product

Creating a new product from an existing product:

You can save yourself time and work by using an existing product as the basis for a new similar product. The existing product can be a Simple product, Variable product, Grouped product or Auction product.

To do this you first need to create a Duplicate Product. Notably, this will start as being identical to the existing product in all aspects, except for having "(copy)" added to the title.

Just click on the "Duplicate" button on the existing product you wish to use.

The Duplicate button in the above screenshot is in the red outline box.

In the green outline box is the Product title: "Simple Test product, a painting" with (Copy) added to it (yellow box).

(Important): Your first amendment to the duplicate is to add your new title, without (Copy)

Your Duplicate will also have changed 'SAVE' buttons as below:

You can at this stage, or at any other amendment stage, click on the  DRAFT button to Save your work as you go along.

The next step is to amend your descriptions, category if required, Tags, Image(s) and all Submenu items that differ from your existing product details.

Finally, when you are happy with your work and have previewed it as it would appear on the front end using the PREVIEW button, Click on SUBMIT FOR REVIEW. 

Admin will receive your Review request and approve the listing to go live etc.
